Therevell is meh but their glue is good i use the list below klein flush cutter you get a pack of 5 for 10$ A scalpel I kind of like the vallejo brush and the da-vinci brush (those ain't that cheap) for glue i use the cazy glue/gorilla instand and wood glue for building my base (fixing the model on them if i use bottle cap)
Revellproduce their kits to a price and you have to decide whether the quality is “good enough”; Tamiya produce their kits to a standard, and you choose whether to pay for it. Looking at my display shelves, I don’t think it’s obvious which models are built from Revell kits and which from Fujimi or Tamiya.
Yes use the one that is right for the aircraft you want to model. Or if you are not bothered which sub-type of B-17G you want, then the Airfix kit is a bit better overall, though you should also be aware of this strange problem which seems to have affected a few (but as far as we can see only a few) examples of the kit.
Imdoing a Fokker dr.1 'Red Baron' right now from Revell. I find the kit quite horrible, but its a really cool model. I am making the 1986 kit, the newer one is quite good. Never seen a kit as bad as on these photos. Kudos to you for making the best of it, nice job.
Idont think any A models are still in service. With US forces. Although the Blues flew the A model and may still be flying that with upgraded avionics and newer GE F404 engines. I made some of these changes to my old Revell F18 many years ago and that was before any aftermarket decals were out. Jon. Edited June 9, 2013 by fastzx
Livingin Germany Revell paints are the ones you easily get. Any other brand is only mail order or proper hobby stores (of which are only a few left). Most of the enamels are really good for spraying and brush painting but there are some which can be a PITA when it comes to drying times - usually the gloss colours.
Revellis one of the known brands when it comes to plastic models. They are a German Company founded in 1956 due to the rising public interest in model replicas. That's why they have a huge history and collectors would surely want to know more about these models. Revell makes good models because their models.
WithTamiya models, it doesn’t matter whether it is a brand-new kit or early 40+ years old models. The simple fact is that Tamiya kits fit seamlessly and offer simplified assembly and good details that any beginner or expert modeler will love.
